Been so busy this week I've not had much time to blog or shop! Not much is new in my life. It's my birthday soon though, which I am quite excited about :D I have decided not to go shopping until after then. I'm going out for my birthday at the weekend though, so I mite need a little something to wear for then!!
It's raining here again today. I thought it was meant to be summer. Where has the sun gone? I think I might book a holiday for a few months times. If the sun isn't going to come to me, then I'll go to it!
    Will post again sooon

  • Sunnies

Just been doing a bit of looking round for sunglasses..so far my favourites are these ones:

I like the way they are really big and statement like.
The colour of these miss sixty ones are ace and they are oversized too:

But as they are designer ones they're not cheap. I want some that will last me (after all you do get what you pay for!) There might be some cheaper ones that are still good, we'll see....

I'm glad to say that the sun is here and this weekend I got the first suntan/ burn of the year! And as promised I have been looking at the colours in for this summer. Bright, cheerful colours are all over the catwalks this season, resulting in some stunning colours in the high street. From daffodil yellow to cobalt blue, any colour of the rainbow will be fashionable this summer. I'll start with a colour I'm not sure about-yellow. The colour is a feel-good, happy colour that sums up everything to with summer and the sun. There is loads of yellow in the shops and looking at the dresses they are so pretty, one I found on ASOS:

However, I have blonde hair. I always tend to think that blonde hair clashes with yellow as it they are different shades of the same colour. The colour looks great against dark hair, and tanned skin...again my pale skin would look even more washed out with this yellow. It's a colour I always admire on other people but steer clear of myself. A good alternative may be:

White will always be popular in the summer. Again, it doesnt look better than with a golden tan and is perfecf for holidays, and with this slight yellow adaptation I can follow the trends without looking like a pineapple or clashing left right and centre!
Red is another colour that I used to think clashed with my hair, but after more thought it has grown on me and I am starting to love the colour and the richness of it.

This dress from Topshop is the perfect colour, and with a little pattern detail is takes the harshnesss away and offers a more summery tone.
Orange isn't a colour I would usually for either (I'm not boring honestly!!) but this season it does tie in well to the earthy colours I was talking about in my last blog, and this dress is just great:

I love the pink over the top breaking up the block of orange colour and the tanned coloured belt goes really well, as will the earthy wooden accessories too. Nothing like making new outfits from jewellery is there!
Finally, I LOVE this blue that rihanna is wearing:

It's a great colour that suits everyone, and by the time summer is over 'Do you have this in electric blue' will become the most asked question in shops worldwide! Don't be afraid to try some daring colours its fun and summery!

  • Where is summer?

Sorry I haven't posted on here for a long time. Been really really busy I just haven't had chance. I won't bore you all with my recent purchases over the past month, probably far too many for you all to look at! But I'm still disappointed at the lack of sun we've been experiencing of late! My most recent fad is dresses. I have decided dresses can be dressed up or down, worn with tights or jeans (as usually needed in this country!) so I have been looking for dresses to continue my summer wardrobe. The fact that I am travelling around America this summer makes me even more excited as everytime I see a dress I think how fantastic it will look with my tan!
One of my first purchases is from Warehouse:
    LILAC EMBELLISHED STRAPPY DRS
I have managed to justify this with the fact that blue is my colour! My mum has always said so and since this dress is so gorgeous and blue I decided it was just for me.
But after looking at the trends for this season, earthy browns and natural colours are in fashion. I love this dress:
    Lurex Paisley Dress
This with some wooden bangles and gladiator sandles would look great:
Wide Bangle With Mixed Finish Detail The Branch 925 Sterling Silver Plate with Wooden Bangle Wood With Gold Detail Bracelet
Or something a bit more delicate like this:
Multi Bead Strech Three Bracelet Set

I also have a real thing for white dresses. I saw a gorgeous one from French Connection and got it: Charlotte Dress this would go really well with the bracelets and maybe a tanned colour waste belt like this:
    Wooden Square Buckle Elastic
Both dresses would go with some gladiator sandles like these:
    Pandora Shoe
So at the moment these are my favourite looks. It's a far cry from the 1920s bright colours which I am going on the hunt for next. But the earthy colours suit everyone with all these gorgeous chunky accessories you can transform any outfit and can't go wrong!
